from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71359

This specimen was lot 71359 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 4 Skilling, 1778-HIAB. Christian VII (1766-1808). PCGS Genuine--Damage, AU Details Secure Holder. Gray toned with hints of russet on the obverse. A few small dents present, yielding the detail grade." This is a one year type; the next 4 skilling was the 1788-HIAB. It was accompanied by a 1 skilling (KM 258), 2 skilling (KM 255), 8 skilling (KM 257) and 24 skilling (KM 250). Ninety six skilling made a specie daler.

Recorded mintage: 162,000.
