This specimen was lot 73009 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2023), where it sold for $100. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 8 Skilling, 1783-HIAB. Copenhagen Mint. Christian VII. PCGS EF-45. This charming representative delivers good details and limited handling." Altho the Danish monarchy minted this denomination for Norway throughout the eighteenth century, this type of 1778-88 is by far the most common. It was accompanied by billon one skilling (KM 258), two skilling (KM 255), four skilling (KM 256) and 24 skilling (KM 250). Ninety six skilling made a specie daler.
