Norfolk 1811 shilling token D-17

from the Marathon collection

This token is not considered a Conder token, being issued after Conder wrote his book, but is often included with them as part of the vast array of British private tokens issued before the Royal mint was reformed in 1816. Wikipedia comments, "Great Yarmouth, often called Yarmouth, is a seaside town in Norfolk, England; it straddles the River Yare and is located east of Norwich. Its fishing industry, mainly for herring, shrank after the mid-20th century and has all but ended."
