Stack's Bowers October 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 75763

This specimen was lot 75763 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Berkshire. Reading. Silver 18 Pence Token, 1811. NGC MS-64. Obverse: Five busts within circle, legend around; Reverse: Seven lines of text, palm branches at top and bottom." This token is not considered a Conder token, being issued after Conder wrote his book, but is often included with them as part of the vast array of British private tokens issued before the Royal mint was reformed in 1816.
