This specimen was lot 44166 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. 10 Cents, 1876-H. Heaton Mint. Victoria. PCGS AU-50 Gold Shield. A pleasing, wholesome Dime with sharp strike detail, and medium gray toning that exhibits some colors when turned in the light." Altho attributed by the auctioneers to Canada, this ten cents was actually struck for Newfoundland. In fact, no ten cents were struck for Canada in 1876. This specimen realized one quarter of the catalog value.
