This specimen was lot 3104 in Goldberg sale 91 (Los Angeles, June 2016), where it sold for $76.37. The catalog description[1] noted, "New Zealand. Penny, 1941 PCGS MS64 RB. George VI. PCGS graded MS-64 Red & Brown." New Zealand did not receive her own coinage until 1933, British coins being used heretofore. Issue of pennies and half pennies did not begin until 1940. This is a somewhat scarce date of a type struck 1940-47.

Recorded mintage: 1,200,000.

Specification: 9.6 g, bronze, 30.6 mm diameter.
