This specimen was lot 23031 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEW ZEALAND. 1/2 Penny, 1941. PCGS MS-65 RB Secure Holder. A gem with excellent eye appeal and lustrous surfaces." New Zealand did not receive her own coinage until 1933, British coins being used heretofore. Issue of pennies and half pennies did not begin until 1940. This is a better date of a type struck 1940-47.
