Steve Album Auction 53, lot 3643

This specimen was lot 3643 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA: George VI, 1936-1952, AE 1/2 penny, 1941(m), a lovely lustrous example! PCGS graded MS64 RB, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection." This type was struck in large quantities at Melbourne (shown here), Perth and Bombay. Bombay participated in producing these in 1942-43 only while Melbourne was the sole producer for 1927-41. The circulation strikes are not rare.

Recorded mintage: 5,011,000 plus a few proofs.
