This specimen was lot 22364 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $1,120. The catalog description^[1] noted, "George V Proof Threepence 1935, Proof 66 PCGS, a superb example of this key date with pristine mirror surfaces and appealing silvery-gray toning." New Zealand used sterling coinage until her conversion to decimal coinage in 1967 (the same year as Great Britain and Australia). This type was struck 1933-36 of which this is the scarcest date. The reverse depicts Maori war clubs.

Recorded mintage: 40,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 1.41 g, 0.500 fine silver, 16.3 mm diameter.
