This specimen was lot 27649 in Heritage sale 3031 (Dallas, January 2014), where it sold for $940. The catalog description[1] noted, "New Brunswick. Victoria 10 Cents 1864, XF40 ICCS. The tougher date of a two year type. With pleasing russet toning." Prior to confederation with Canada in 1867, the province of New Brunswick issued half, one, five, ten and twenty cent pieces during 1861-64. The half cent, issued 1861 only, is the scarcest denomination.

Specification: 2.32 g, 0.925 fine silver, .069 troy oz ASW.
