This specimen was lot 32732 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $998.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "New Brunswick. Victoria Penny Token 1843 MS63 Brown PCGS. A fully struck-up example. A premium coin at this grade level." Prior to confederation with Canada in 1867, the province of New Brunswick issued half, one, five, ten and twenty cent pieces during 1861-64. The half penny and one penny tokens, issued 1843 only, are readily available in grades up to Extremely Fine.

Recorded mintage: 480,000.
