Sincona sale 20, lot 3437

This specimen was lot 3437 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 250 (about US$313 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Batzen 1800. FDC. (uncirculated.)" The canton of Neuchâtel issued a variety of coins during the eighteenth century while the county was under Prussian administration. Forty batzen = four franken = one thaler and four kreuzer = one batzen.
