Sincona sale 6, lot 2797

This specimen was lot 2797 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$3,714 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Neuenburg - Neuchâtel Friedrich I. von Preussen, 1707-1713. Taler 1713. Sehr selten. Übliche kleine Schrötlingsfehler. Gutes sehr schön/sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Neuchâtel, Frederick of Prussia (1707-13), thaler of 1713, very rare, a few planchet flaws, very fine.)"

This type, like most issues from this small part of Switzerland, is rare.
