Netherlands 1868 1/2 gulden
This specimen was lot 671 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $393.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS, Kingdom . William III. 1849-1890. AR 1/2 Gulden. Utrecht mint; muntmeestertekens: sword and winged caduceus. H.A. van den Wall Bake, mintmaster. Dated 1868. Closed 8 variety. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 62. Brilliant Uncirculated. Purchased from Paul Davis, May 1970." This type was struck 1850-68 in substantial numbers tho choice specimens are always at a premium. The 1868 is common.
