This specimen was lot 3091 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "1 Gulden 1845. Gutes sehr schön. (good very fine.)" This type was struck 1840-49 at Utrecht. The 1845 is a common date but the variety with the dash (shown on the reverse, between the crown and the shield) is priced about double. The contemporary French silver two francs was 10 g, 0.900 fine.
Recorded mintage: 3,802,556 without dash and 221,105 with dash.
Specification: 10 g, 0.945 fine silver, .303 troy oz ASW, 28 mm diameter, this specimen 9.95 g.
