This specimen was lot 3549 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,359 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Wilhelm I. 1815-1840 1 Gulden 1837. Utrecht. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. NGC MS63. (kingdom of the Netherlands, William I, 1815-40, gulden of 1837, Utrecht mint. Scarce in this quality, choice uncirculated, in NGC MS-63 holder.)"
This type was struck at Utrecht 1818-37 and at Brussels 1823 and 1829. This is a common date of a rather scarce type. The weight was reduced to 10 g in 1840.
Recorded mintage: 382,699 plus proofs.
