This specimen was lot 25204 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it sold for $1,277.65. The catalog description[1] noted, "Willem I Gulden 1820, MS64 PCGS, superb frosty luster, wonderful portrait, small natural flaw right on the face of the lion on reverse." This is one of the more available dates of this generally scarce type struck 1818-37. In 1840, the weight was reduced to 10 g to match the French two francs.
