This specimen was lot 75052 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Nassau. Pfennig, 1862. Wiesbaden Mint. Adolph. PCGS MS-65 Red Brown." The duchy of Nassau was divided into Nassau-Weilburg and Nassau-Usingen in medieval times but was reunited when Nassau-Usingen lapsed in 1816. Nassau, in turn, was annexed to Prussia in 1866 when the duke took the Austrian side in a war. This type was struck 1859, 1860 and 1862 and is common. One gulden was 240 pfennige.
