This specimen was lot 23550 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Nassau. Gulden, 1839. Wiesbaden Mint. Wilhelm. NGC AU-58. Very gently handled, this example presents a rather robust and colorful tone further accentuated at the peripheries, while a few hints of brilliance cling to the protected areas." This type was struck 1838-39 and is fairly available. The gulden was four-sevenths of a union thaler.
