This specimen was lot 1192 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $211.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "NASSAU: AR kreuzer, 1823, PCGS graded MS65." The duke of Nassau issued substantial numbers of kreuzer up until 1863. Some were billon, as here, and others were copper. This type was struck 1817, 1823-24 and 1828 and is a better type. In 1866, the duchy was swallowed up by Prussia and the coinage ended, tho one branch of the family now occupies the throne of the Netherlands.
