This specimen was lot 30972 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy: Naples & Sicily. Carlo of Bourbon gold 2 Ducati 1753 MM-RDG MS65 NGC. A stylistically interesting issue struck with a somewhat two-dimensional style of portraiture, the surfaces immensely well-kept, handling being confined to only limited wisps in the fields. The finest of its type certified by NGC." This type was struck 1749-55. Four and four ducati (Fr-844, Fr-843) were also emitted using this design.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: 2.93 g, 0.906 fine gold, 21 mm diameter.
