This specimen was lot 72030 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Naples. Carlino, 1755-DEG MMR. Carlo di Borbone. NGC MS-63. An attractive example of the type with sharp strike detail and strong almond to amber toning." This scarce type was the next-to-last issue of this denomination, which had its origins in the fifteenth century. The carlino was ten grana and was accompanied by a half carlino.

Specification: 2.19 g, 0.833 fine silver, 21 mm diameter. Gigante states that this coin was 0.908 fine silver.
