Mysore AH (12)21/45 1/4 rupee
This specimen was lot 2689 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MYSORE: Krishna Raja Wodeyar, 1799-1868, AR pavali (1/4 rupee), Mysore, AH(12)21 year 45, in the name of Shah Alam II, nice strike, rare with the Hijri date discernable, VF, R." Krishnaraja Wadiyar III was maharaja of Mysore after Hyder Ali and Tipu Ali were overthrown by the British. He himself was set aside by the British in 1831, who ruled the kingdom directly until 1881, when the state was restored to his adopted son, Chamarajendra Wadiyar X. This type was struck AH 1220-1221 and years 46, 76, 84.
