This specimen was lot 2276 in Goldberg sale 112 (Los Angeles, September 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Muscat & Oman. ½ Dhofari Rial, AH1367. Said Bin Taimur, 1932-1970. NGC graded MS-65." This type was struck 1947 only. It was issued prior to the reorganization of the country following the 1970 coup, during which the country name was shortened to plain "Oman". Under the old system, 200 baisa = one dhofari rial.
Recorded mintage: 200,000 + proofs + 2 in gold (KM 29a).
Specification: 14.03 g, 0.500 fine silver.
