This specimen was lot 29857 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), where it sold for $1,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Munster. Christof Bernhard von Galen 2 Taler 1661 XF40 NGC. A massive specimen complete with handsome steel-gray patination, featuring St. Paul in a cloud over the city view and helmeted arms. Attractively detailed and highly-interesting as such." All the thalers of Münster are scarce but the double thalers are rare.
