This specimen was lot 54104 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $4,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Mughal Empire. Mohur, AH 986 (1578). Jaunpur Mint. Akbar. NGC MS-64. A beautiful and alluring Mohur from a SCARCE mint, this exceedingly attractive example yields rich luster, with strong details resultant from a forceful strike. Limitedly handled or marked, this near-Gem will enliven the next collection it enters." This type was struck at Jaunpur AH 983-986 and is rare.
