Stephen Album sale 47, lot 873

This specimen was lot 873 in Stephen Album sale 47 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Babur, 3rd reign, 1504-1530, AR shahrukhi, Badakhshan, AH915, excellent example, date weak but sufficiently legible (and confirmed by die-link), VF, RR." The shahrukhi was originally a silver coin minted by Shah Rukh of the Timurid Empire (r. 1405-47) and was adopted by the early Mughal Emperors (Babur, Humayan and Akbar). It was eventually superseded by the rupee.
