Stack's Bowers November 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 78228

This specimen was lot 78228 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "MONGOLIA. 500 Tugrik, 2011. NGC MS-70 Antiqued. Wildlife Protection Series, Ural Owl issue." Another 500 tugrik of 2011 featuring this owl was struck in gold (KM 310). The Wildlife Protection series began in 2007 and concluded in 2018. It was struck at B. H. Mayer’s Kunstprägeanstalt in Munich.

Recorded mintage: 2,500.

Specification: 31.1 g, 0.999 fine silver with Swarovski crystals, 38.6 mm diameter.
