This specimen was lot 2431 in Goldberg sale 93 (Los Angeles, September 2016), where it sold for $135.12. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mongolia. Tugrik, AH15 (1925) NGC MS61. NGC graded MS-61. From the Aurora Family Collection." This issue, the first for the independent country, was accompanied by one, five, ten, fifteen, twenty and fifty mongo. All match the contemporary Russian kopeks and rubles. The Communists ruled the nation with Russian support until they were overthrown in 1992. This series has become expensive since it was included in Chinese catalogs.

Recorded mintage: 400,000.
