This specimen was issued by Mongolia on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Communist revolution there in 1921. The type is also known issued in copper-nickel, silver and gold. The Communists ruled the nation with Russian support until they were overthrown in 1992. The second specimen was lot 794 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MONGOLIA: People's Republic, 1 tögrög, 1971, 50th Anniversary of the Mongolian Revolution, a superb example, PCGS graded MS65."
