Milan 1552-K 1/2 scudo
This specimen was lot 1659 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 1,900 CHF (about US$2,756 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIEN Mailand, Carlo V. 1535-1556. 1/2 Scudo 1552, Milano. Sehr selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Hess Divo 319, Zürich, Oktober 2010, Los 1773. (Italy, duchy of Milan, Charles V, 1535-56, half scudo of 1552, Milan mint. Very rare, Very Fine-Extremely Fine.)"
The Spanish issues for Milan ended with the death of Charles II in 1700, when the duchy passed to Austria, which held it until the coming of Napoleon. This type also comes undated.
