This specimen was lot 74838 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Trade Tokens. Middlesex. Spence's Copper 1/2 Penny Token, 1793. NGC AU-50. Edge: Plain. Displaying a man hanging from a gibbet, this "end of pain" issue displays very little evidence of handling or time in circulation, making it an excellent representative of the type."
