This specimen was issued by the Mexico City mint to honor the bicentennial of independence. Hidalgo, Morelos and Guerrero are depicted; of the three, only Guerrero lived to see the actual event. Like many recent issues, it remains unlisted in the SCWC. The oblong patch on the obverse contains microengraving, an anticounterfeiting device. The twenty pesos was reduced from 15.95 g, 32 mm diameter to 12.67 g, 30 mm diameter, in 2019.

Recorded mintage: 336,256,746.

Specification: 12.67 g, nickel brass center in an aluminum bronze ring, 30 mm diameter, interrupted reeded edge.
