This specimen was lot 21321 in Heritage sale 61630 (Dallas, February 2024), where it sold for $4,200. The lot description[1] noted, "Mexico: Estados Unidos gold 'Oil Industry Anniversary' 1000 Pesos 1988-Mo MS65 NGC, Mexico City mint." When President Roosevelt refused to go along with Standard Oil's protests, Mexican sovereignty was finally affirmed.
