This type was struck in Mexico 1980-85 but the 1983 is known only from a few rare proofs. The Aztec feathered serpent god, Quetzalcoatl, is featured on the obverse.
Recorded mintage: 16,300,000, the best date after the 1983.
Specification: 10.20 g, copper-nickel, 27 mm diameter.
