Mexico 1957 (10 pesos)

from the Stack's Bowers 2017 NYINC sale, lot 7022

This specimen was part of lot 7022 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), which sold for $540.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Medallic 10 Pesos, 1957. NGC MS-64 & 65. 2 pieces in lot. Constitution Centennial. Both attractively toned." Altho struck to the standard of a gold ten pesos of 1905-20, it bears no mark of value and is so classed as a medal. This was issued in conjunction with a circulating silver ten pesos (KM 475).

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.

Specification: 8.33 g, 0.900 fine gold, .239 troy oz AGW.
