Mexico 1950 5 centavos

In 1946, the mint suspended the production of copper five centavos and in 1950 introduced this copper nickel five centavos. It was a flop. Production was quickly terminated and most melted. The copper type was resumed 1951-54 but enough of these were saved that they are today readily available.

Recorded mintage: 5,700,000.

Specification: 4 g, copper-nickel, 20.5 mm diameter.
