Mexico 1952-Mo 5 centavos

The first specimen was lot 47261 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $105. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1952-Mo. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-66 Red." This specimen is an example of a type struck 1942-55 at Mexico City. This type was superseded by a smaller brass five centavos which was struck until 1976, when the denomination was retired for lack of purchasing power. The portrait is of Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, a heroine of the War of Independence.
