This specimen was struck at the Zacatecas mint in 1838. This mint struck silver and gold coins 1826-1905, with one reales known for 1826-62 and 1868-69. Assayer OM is listed for 1831-55. The issues of Zacatecas, along with Guanajuato and Mexico City, are generally common.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
