The first coin was lot 9195 in Ponterio sale 150 (Los Angeles, August 2009), where it sold for $603.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1822-JM. NGC MS-62." This type was struck 1822-23 in Mexico City and is not rare except in high grade.

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.903 fine silver, .049 troy oz AGW.
