This specimen was lot 22774 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $117.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1801-FM. NGC MS-62. Bold strike with full luster." Shown is an 1801MoFM half real, one of a type struck for Charles IV 1792-1808. Assayer FT is recorded for the years 1801-03; assayer FM is also recorded for 1801 and is priced slightly higher.
