The first specimen shown was lot 1303 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $408.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico City, Mexico, bust 4 reales, Charles IV, 1798/7FM. Deeply toned AXF with slightly off-center reverse, faint overdate (scarce), no problems." Assayer FM is recorded for the years 1784-1801. The four reales is the scarcest of the colonial denominations and when found is usually in low grade.

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.896 fine silver, .390 troy oz ASW, this specimen 13.3 grams.
