This specimen was lot 35120 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $106. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Reales, 1784Mo FM. NGC VF Details-Surface Hairlines." The four reales is the scarcest of the colonial denominations and when found, is usually in low grade.
