This specimen was lot 24678 in Heritage sale 3016 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, "Felipe V gold Escudo 1746/5-MF, XF40 NGC Eliasberg, lightly toned with luster in the legends and obvious overdate details. Very scarce type and an attractive specimen." This type was struck in Mexico 1732-47 and is not rare tho not cheap.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.917 fine gold, .100 troy oz AGW.
