This specimen was lot 3087 in the Eliasberg sale, where it sold for $6,325. The catalog description[1] noted,

"1733/2 F 4 escudos. Mexico City mint. EF-45 (NGC). Types as above. Medium gold, planchet flaw on rim at 3:00 on obverse as struck, otherwise fairly undisturbed. Overdate details plainly evident, overdate for this rare issue not mentioned in Krause-Mishler and as a date the issue is rare enough to be unpriced. A very nice example of this rarity, another early Felipe V issue missing from most collections. Purchased from Mortimer Hammel, April 1945."

This type was struck 1732-46 and is the only type featuring the bust of Philip V. The years 1732-33 are so rare as to be unpriced in the SCWC.

Specification: 13.54 grams, 0.917 fine gold, .399 troy oz AGW. This specimen: 13.38 grams, 30.8 mm diameter.
