This specimen was lot 72314 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Cob 8 Reales, 1726-Mo D. Mexico City Mint. Philip V. PCGS F-12. A worn and variably toned Cob, with visible mintmark, assayer, and full date. From the S.P. Rutherford Collection." The silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine in 1729. They are not rare but very scarce with legible dates.
