This specimen was lot 1239 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $5,875. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Escudos, 1714-MoJ. Philip V (1700-46). NGC MS-65. Full date, marks, shield and cross. Lustrous and choice. From the David O'Harrow Collection. Ex: Pittman Collection. Ex: 1715 Plate Fleet." This type was struck 1714-31; this is the only common date (most have no dates).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.917 fine gold.
