This specimen was lot 72555 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1702-MoL. Philip V (1700-46). NGC FINE-15. VERY RARE date. Clear 4 digit date with full cross on the reverse." The silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine in 1728.
