Stack's Bowers October 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 76034
SB925-76034r.jpg

This specimen was lot 76034 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Mewar. Rupee, ND (1858-1920). Udaipur (Chitrakoot Nagar) Mint. NGC MS-65. Swarupshahi series." We're a little vague as to which ruler struck these fairly common rupees. Candidates include Swarup Singh (1842-61), Shambhu Singh (1861-74), Saijjan Singh (1874-84) or Fateh Singh (1884-1930), some of whom endured periods of regency when the British felt they were out of line.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 10.75-10.85 g, silver, 23.8 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-Y11.
