Sincona sale 102, lot 5374

This specimen was lot 5374 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$641 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Luzern. Stadt und Kanton. Batzen 1806, Luzern. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. FDC. Exemplar der Auktion Lugdunum 22, Solothurn, Dezember 2022, Los 594. (Switzerland, canton of Luzern, batzen of 1806, Luzern mint. Rare in this condition, Mint State.)"

This example is from a type struck 1804 and 1806. One thaler was forty batzen and one batzen was ten rappen.

Specification: 2.6 g, billon, 25 mm diameter, this specimen 2.73 g.
